I will share with you my experience with Liquid Web’s platform. I will also give you a more comprehensive step-by-step guide on how to fully maximize their web host plan.

I will rate Liquid Web’s overall performance according to the four categories below:

  • Price
  • Ease of Use and Navigation
  • Speed and Uptime Performance
  • Special Features

In the upcoming lines, I will give you my overall score and honest takeaway on Liquid Web based on my observation and experience so you can see if they are worth buying or not.

Liquid Web And Nexcess Review: Is It A Good Web Host?

Liquid Web may not be the best web host provider in the market, but I guarantee you that they are a stand-out too. I consider them as one of the most powerful providers in the industry.

They offer you power and scalability that other providers don’t.

But I always say this, the best web host provider is the one that will fill the voids on your website. You must consider what you want your website to achieve before getting yourself into the complicated world of web hosting.

It is an investment that you and your business will benefit from until the end.

If you’re interested in Liquid Web, then you should read this article. I will try them out for you and share my experience.

For each one of the four categories, I will give them a score of 1 to 10 points. Let’s get to it.

Liquid Web and Nexcess: Pricing Options

Liquid Web offers a lot of different products that are mostly hosting services. Take note, they are not just limited to web hosting, but they have a lot more like VPS hosting as well.

They also offer WordPress hosting management. So if you’re interested in that too, you can check out Liquid.web com here to see their WordPress hosting plans.

If your luck is with you today, you can get a discount of up to 25%.

They post discount codes on their web page so you might want to check them out once in a while.

Liquid Web offers different plans you can choose from based on what you need.

Their cheapest plan is $19 every month which is quite expensive compared to others. And oh, if I haven’t told you yet, they are actually one of the most expensive web hosting providers in the industry.

So, if budget is not an issue for you and performance matters, you will be fine.

With their basic plan, you will get 1 free website, storage of up to 15 GB, and bandwidth of up to 2 TB. They have an enterprise plan as well which I doubt if you need that much if you’re just a beginner.

Liquid Web offers you a good number of bandwidth and their plans differ from the number of websites you’re allowed to add.

They don’t charge you extra for every pageview count which I find really practical.

They don’t have a traffic limit so you don’t have to worry if there’s a great number of visitors on your website every day. I even asked their customer support team for confirmation if this is true.

Louise did a great job in assisting me with my query. She even told me that in case the traffic is over the bandwidth plan, they automatically auto-scale for free.

They also have the most important feature a web host should have which is the automatic daily backups. They can migrate your website for free too.

You can contact their support team if you need to migrate your old or new website to their platform.

You can even save up to two months’ worth of web hosting if you avail of their annual plan.

I bought their basic plan for purposes of this article.

For $19 a month, you will get one website to manage.

However, their plan doesn’t come with a free domain name unless if you want to purchase it for another $20 annually.

Other providers will give this for free but Liquid Web is expensive and now you know why. In terms of domain names, you can get a cheap plan from Namecheap.

They offer as low as $8.88 a year. You can go to here to check their domain name plans.

Liquid Web has a managed WordPress hosting, that owns Content Delivery Network through Nexcess, and has an automatic daily backup. They provide all these features for free. (You can click here to go to to try their CDN.)

They use their own servers which were believed to be faster than renting servers.

However, their WordPress hosting is only good for a 14-day free trial which I think is too short compared to the standard free trial of 30 days.

They also do not offer a money-back guarantee.

Overall, I am happily satisfied with their package and their prices are justified for the services they offer. I will give them a score of 9 out of 10.

Liquid Web and Nexcess: Ease of Use and Setup

I am now a basic plan subscriber in Liquid Web. The moment I was all set, I checked out their user interface right away.

I personally like how simple it looks, and true enough, it is easy to use and navigate. You will see their main menu on the left tab and I must say, everything is organized.

Once you get to the provider’s website management page, you’ll see it is a lot better than the cPanel other provider uses.

You can add your SSL Certificate. If you want to go to your website you can just click the “Environment” tab.

Now, it is time to check how fast and easy it is to install their own CDN.

All you have to do is go to the “Performance” tab, click Content Delivery Network, and tick enable. It’s super easy, right?

I added the SSL Certificate too and it was hassle-free.

You just go to the “SSL” tab and toggle the bar, and choose “enable let’s encrypt”.

You can create or add your email account to the “Email” tab.

You can log in anytime by clicking the launch webmail.

You will be required to fill up their information page and once you’re done you will be redirected to the RoundCube email page.

All you have to do is log in and you may access your new business email.

For this category, I will give Liquid web a score of 10 points. It was super easy to use that even beginners will have no problem using them.

Speed and Uptime Performance (Tests)

I conducted two tests on my website.

The first test I performed was with my bare and simple website. What I meant by the bare website is without an image optimizer and no plugins to help it load faster.

Here is the result:

My website loaded in just 0.5 seconds. It is a great speed for me considering that this is just a simple website.

The second test I conducted was with a bit of customization. This time, I added a website theme, a plugin, and an image optimizer.

Here is how my website looks now:

I added the free WP Fastest Cache plugin as well.

I also added ShortPixel Image Optimizer for the images.

Lastly, I added their very own Nexcess CDN.

After installing and adding all of them, here is the result of the second test:

Considering that this website has been reconstructed with some changes, it fully loads in just 1.4 seconds. No doubt why they are considered as one of the fastest hosting providers in the market.

On top of that, I have also monitored their uptime for the last 30 days, and here is the result:

It’s perfect. They are 100% up all the time. They do not have downtime which means they are very reliable.

I’ll give Liquid Web in this category a perfect 10 for its outstanding performance.

Customer Support Rating (Tested)

Accordingly, Liquid Web customer support is available 24/7 all year round. They are reachable through chat, phone, or via helpdesk.

But this is the most confusing part, on their homepage, it says that they are available 24/7/365. However, if you try to contact their chat support you will see this:

Hello Liquid Web? Have you not consolidated your schedules with every department you have there? I am not getting the 24/7/365 with a daily schedule of 8 am to 5 pm through Mondays to Fridays.

Uhm, are there changes in the calendar lately that I do not know? Do Sundays and Saturdays no longer part of the 24/7 policy?

Wait, are you getting this? Because I don’t. It’s more confusing than the classic mind-boggling question which is “who came first, is it the egg or chicken”?

Anyway, during this test, I asked three questions which I did at different times of the day so I can also get their average handling time.

My first reach out to them was about my website getting infected by a virus. Here is their response:

They were quick in responding and scanned my website right away. They also promised me they will send a report about the malware but sadly, I didn’t get any.

It was a fail for me because I was really expecting I’d get a thorough report.

For my second question, I asked for the renewal costs for the domain name.

They were able to give me an answer in less than 5 minutes but I had to repeat myself twice.

For my last request, I asked them if they could install the SSL Certificate and Cloudflare.

I have to submit a ticket through their helpdesk instead of doing the live chat since they were already closed at that time. Remember that they are only open from 8 am until 5 pm (EST) and operating from Monday to Friday.

It took them 3 hours to reply but the moment they reached out to me, they install the SSL Certificate immediately but not Cloudflare. They could have sent me a link to a guide on how to install the CloudFare myself but they didn’t.

The average handling time of Liquid Web’s customer support was 1 minute and 11 seconds. Considering that they beat my 5 minutes standard average handling time for customer support, they are truly fast.

Overall, I would rate them a score of 4 out of 10. I consider this as a big-time failure on their customer support.

You know, I always believe that in every service, they should have a corresponding excellent customer support team. It’s true that product matters, but people also consider the kind of service they are getting.

Your clients deserve to experience excellent support.

Liquid Web and Nexcess Best Feature

The best feature of Liquid Web and Nexcess is their amazing speed and uptime performance. It’s really fast if I compare it to other providers that I have tested so far.

Another pro feature is the easily navigated interface and intuitive backend system. It’s a big joy for beginners.

Liquid Web has different server locations in different countries.

They have 8 servers in each country they are located in. I like it especially if you are aiming to expand on these places.

They also offer free website migration.

Just fill out the necessary information they need and click submit.

Take note that this kind of feature is not being offered by the other web hosting providers.

Do I Recommend Liquid Web and Nexcess? (My Final Opinion)

Overall, I am satisfied with their performance. They have minor lapses which I believe they can consider as a challenge to upgrade.

Their customer support team can do better for sure. I think the score I’ll give them is reasonable for the kind of support they have offered me.

Overall, I will give Liquid Web a solid score of 8.5 out of 10. Even if their support is not perfect, they are really fast and affordable.

I do recommend them, especially for beginners. They have an easy user interface and an uncomplicated dashboard.

I have used them for a while now and so far I am really happy with what I get. So I highly recommend you to check them out.

If you think this is the best web hosting provider, you can visit here to experience their basic plan and see it for yourself.
