How To Buy A Domain Name From Namecheap: The Ultimate Guide
Getting a domain name is really helpful in making your online presence more established and visible. Namecheap offers a wide variety of services including web hosting, VPS, Cloud, and a lot more. For this article, I will focus on how to get you started on the basics such as the domain name.
In this article, I will show you the step-by-step guide on how to buy a domain on Namecheap which includes the following:
- Namecheap Domain Discount Coupon
- Namecheap Domain Available For Purchase
- Namecheap purchasing process
- Namecheap Pricing (Reviewed and Compared)
- Namecheap Payment and Verification
Namecheap Domain Discount Coupon
The first step to everything is to go to Namecheap’s website. The image below is how the home page looks like.
It is a general home web page where everyone can just type any domain. On this page, you won’t find any deals yet.
To help you find deals, I will provide you a special link to where you can find the coupons if they are available.
You will be routed to this page and refer to the highlighted box on the image below. This is where you will see the promos.
The promo will indicate what kind of domain names it is applicable to. Check out the image below, you can see that it is applicable on .com domains.
Just click on the promo and copy it. I will save this for now and let’s use it later.
Namecheap Domain Names Available For Purchase
In choosing domain names, I highly recommend using .com or .net because it is more legitimate. Most people use .com since it is always the best and commonly used, but it’s all up to you.
All you have to do is input the domain name you have in mind and check if it comes out on the search result.
If it shows up just like you can see on the image, you will know that it is available to purchase. (You can click here for the best domain names available at Namecheap.com.)
Namecheap Purchasing Process
The domain name I prefer is available for $8.88 per year.
Just press the red box with “add to cart” written on it.
Press the “view item” in the white box option.
After clicking “view item”, it will be routed to the checkout page and press the red bar.
I am now on the part where I will use the coupon code I copied on the first part of this guide. I just pasted the promo code and press apply.
Just click this link to go to Namecheap.com if you want to see more of their plans.
To successfully apply the code, I need to be logged in first. Hence, I will create a new account.
Like I have promised, I will help you all the way. All you need to do is input your preferred username, password, first and last name, email address and press create.
I created a new account successfully and it should route me back to the order page.
I have a better deal than I have ever imagined. From 8.88$, it even went down to 5.88$.
Namecheap Pricing (Reviewed and Compared)
To prove to you that Namecheap is the real deal, I will show you how far is their difference from GoDaddy. I will use the same domain name.
It shows that for this domain name, it’s only $1 per month. Amazing, isn’t it?
But hold your horses…
After I had added it to my cart and checked it out, the real price came up.
I opted for the Full Domain Privacy Protection because I believed it is a must for every business owner. Without this protection, you will get bombarded by marketers and basically anyone that is trying to make a deal with you.
The name of the owner of a specific domain will appear online.
If you check out the “view details” option, it will show all the protection it can do to you.
This protection won’t allow third-parties from accessing your data. They won’t be able to see your details and won’t be able to contact you in any way.
Personally, I would really go for my security first.
I have selected a two-year subscription which will cost me 29.98$ and an additional yearly fee of 9.99 $ for the full protection. It gave me a total amount of a whooping 51.92$.
Meanwhile, I have also checked out the two-year subscription plan in Namecheap. This is the reason why I would always choose them.
It’s almost free that you won’t believe you have saved a bucket. Their support system is also good too. Click this link to check out Namecheap.com support.
Namecheap Payment and Verification
After a good comparison, I firmly believe that Namecheap is really the way to go. Assuming I have confirmed my order, an account contact information will be needed to fill out.
After filling out all the necessary details, just press continue to go to the payment method.
All you have to do is input your details and press continue again.
I have successfully bought a domain name in Namecheap and I am now down to the last step which is to verify my contacts.
Just click on the “verify contacts”. A notification will pop up that an email was sent successfully to you.
The email contains the confirmation link. To access the link, just simply log in or go to your email and open any message coming from Namecheap.
Just click the link and your account will be verified successfully.
