So you are wondering – which web host company is better: Bluehost or Hostinger?

Therefore, grab a seat because we are about to take off.

In this in-depth Bluehost vs Hostinger comparison review, I’ll do many different tests to determine who is better and why.

So stick with me till the end if you want to see the results.

Let’s begin

Bluehost vs Hostinger: Comparison Review (Which one is better?)

Inside my honest comparison review between Bluehost and Hostinger, I’ll take a look at their performance, different technologies, and how well they handle when under stress.

I’ll also compare their pricing, the customer support you get, and what additional extra features you get.

When you know this, you will know which host is the one most suited to your needs.

Let’s begin with pricing.

Bluehost vs Hostinger Price Comparison and Differences

You can buy Hostinger’s cheapest plan for only $0.99 a month

A four-year plan is a single payment of $47.52.

Bluehost or Hostinger? – The Pricing Results

As you can see Bluehost plans are about 50 to 55% more expensive.

But let’s not forget that they are an older company and offer more premium features.

So even if Bluehost is more expensive that doesn’t mean you should avoid it.

Sometimes higher price means better performance.

Keep reading to see what my test results showed me.

Bluehost vs Hostinger Domain Comparison

The thing I like most about Hostinger is that you get a free domain name even if you go with their cheapest plan.

With Hostinger you won’t get a free domain name with their cheapest price.

In order to get one, you will have to sign up with their more expensive ones but even with that, you are still going to pay less than Bluehost.

However, if you don’t care that much about a couple of extra bucks then that won’t be a big problem.

Bluehost vs Hostinger Performance Features

When it comes to speed this is where they are very different.

Even if Hostinger is way cheaper than Bluehost that doesn’t mean they are slow.

It’s actually the exact opposite.

They use Lightspeed servers to take advantage of PHP 7.4 and HТTP2.

In addition, they use the Google cloud platform to store some of their data and prefer SSD storage over HDD.

In short, they’re fast.

In contrast, Bluehost is known for offering more features.

Even though Bluehost did a performance test in 2017, they are not too far behind.

You can easily use their interface and I like all the extra features they provide.

Did you notice a big difference in performance?

Let’s find out.

Bluehost vs Hostinger Speed Test Comparison

In order to make this comparison test legit, I’m going to sign up for both companies and create a basic and simple WordPress website.

Also, I will compare the cheapest packages of the two providers.

Here’s how my website looked after everything was installed.

And since Hostinger already comes with a preinstalled caching plugin, I’m going to install WP Fastest Cache to make the speed test more accurate.

Side note: It’s good to know that both Hostinger and Bluehost offer 1-click automatic WordPress installers and are fairly easy to use in order to create brand new websites from scratch.

This is especially important if you do not have technical skills.

Let’s get to the speed test results…

With the cheapest $1 plan, Hostinger loaded my test website in 1.2 seconds.

Which is really good. Anything below 2 seconds is considered very fast.

According to GTmetrix, Bluehost scored 2.9 seconds in loading time.

Twice and above much more than Hostinger.

However, this isn’t an answer that applies to everyone.

Remember, these websites are empty, they don’t have many users and I’ve selected the cheapest plans users.

Let’s change things a bit and see what will happen.

Bluehost vs Hostinger Stability and High Traffic Comparison

In reality, you would have some users on your website performing tasks like clicking links, reading information, etc.

But how to do this?

Simple – send virtual traffic to simulate real users and test the hosting performance.

Now let’s see how each hosting provider performed.

Sadly Hostinger’s cheapest plan couldn’t handle 50 users at the same time and slowed down a lot.

But let’s be honest.

You can’t pay only $1/month and expect to get a ton of traffic.

But Bluehost on the other hand managed to easily handle 50 people at the same time.

Well, you pay for what you get.

But what do all those results mean? Which one is faster and overall better?

Bluehost vs Hostinger Performance Results

According to my tests, Hostinger is around 2 times faster than Bluehost.

However, if we look strictly only at the cheapest plans, Hostinger fails when it comes to high amounts of traffic.

So if you want to get a lot of traffic and not pay too much your best bet is Bluehost.

In terms of price, however, speed matters more than how many users they can support.

So Hostinger wins this one for sure.

But speed and price are not everything. What about customer service? Can they help you in time of need?

Let’s find out.

Bluehost vs Hostinger Support Comparison

Please note:

While writing this review, Hostinger has its live chat disabled. (This may change in the near future)

Sadly they don’t offer any phone support and you have only email and the live chat once they fix it.

But with them, you still get an extensive knowledge base for free.

In addition to that they give great free articles with many pictures and step-by-step instructions, you can read even if you are not a customer.

Simply go to Hostinger.com to check them out.

In my opinion, Bluehost wins this battle because they offer quick support on every level.

But which support is better?

Since it depends on the person they connect you with, I can’t give a definite answer.

But from personal experience I can say that Hostinger’s customer support was a little more helpful when it came to more advanced questions.

But what about extra features.

Which hosting provider offers more?

Let’s see…

Bluehost vs Hostinger Extra Features Comparison

My favorite extra feature of Hostinger is that it gives you a choice when you are buying their plans.

From the picture below you can see they have servers located all around the world.

Why is this important?

As a result of that, you will have faster loading times in that region.

Meanwhile, Bluehost maintains data centers in the United States.

The West and East Coasts locate their both data centers.

On the other hand, Hostinger’s data centers are located across the globe.

You get to choose from different locations in Asia, Europe, and the US.

That’s why I recommend you to pick Hostinger if you are going to bring traffic from the EU or Asia.

If you want US traffic both hosting providers do a fairly good job.

But Bluehost offers some extra features that compensate for this loss.

They provide you with automatic updates but sadly that’s not a big deal because WordPress already offered that in version 5.5 but it’s worth mentioning.

One more great feature Bluehost I like is called website staging.

In simple words “website staging” is like a blog post draft.

You can edit your entire website without making it public.

That is extremely helpful because it gets complicated if you mess something up.

Having this would be awesome.

So in short Hostinger’s extra features are better suited for people looking to get international traffic while Bluehost is a better solution for people looking for simple and helpful features that will make your website more secure and easy to use.

Bluehost on the other hand is ideal for US traffic and building a solid business.

But which hosting is better and why?

Here’s what I learned after all the tests.

The Results: Bluehost vs Hostinger – Which one is better?

After considering the factors above, who should select Hostinger and who should select Bluehost?

In my opinion, Hostinger is best suited for people who are looking for cheap hosting that is very fast.

They are easy to use, have a custom interface, and have great in-depth tutorials.

On the other hand, I believe that Bluehost is for people that want to create a basic WordPress website and drive traffic mainly from the USA.

Their speed is good and their servers can handle many people at the same time making them a great choice for people aiming for a lot of traffic and cheap prices.

However, which is the better one?

Well in my opinion they are both suited for different people so there isn’t a definitive answer to this question.

Hostinger is a good choice if you don’t need a lot of traffic and need a lot of speed.

If you want to drive high amounts of USA traffic and need a lot of extra features then you should pick Bluehost.
