For this article, I will buy, test, and compare with you the following web hosting providers:

Hang on with me until the end to know my honest opinion on each of my favorite hosting providers and how to get the best current deal.

Cloudways vs Hostinger: What is the Best Web Hosting For Your Small Business?

It is very important you choose a web hosting provider that is the best fit for your small business. Why is it important anyway?

Web hosting is an online service that allows you to publish your website or web application on the World Wide Web.

Most giant companies need a great web hosting provider to anticipate the number of visitors they have for their website. If you’re wondering, what about small businesses then?

Getting a web hosting plan for your business will help it expand its reach and make more sales from people who don’t have access to your physical store. That way you would be able to sell your products worldwide just with a few clicks.

To help you find the best web hosting provider for your small business, I will buy, test and compare 2 of my favorite web hosting providers – Cloudways and Hostinger.

Keep on reading with me until the end to see exactly which one of them offers and how to get the best deal possible.

Cloudways: The Fastest Web Hosting Provider

If this is your first time hearing about Cloudways, I guarantee you that this web hosting provider can help you achieve your goal for a reasonable price.

The thing with Cloudways is that they are acting as a middleman between us and the giant companies like Google, Amazon WorkSpace, Vultr, Linode, and Digital Ocean. So what exactly they do?

Since these giant companies do not offer support if I buy directly from them, that’s where Cloudways takes in the picture. They can offer me the whole package.

For only $10 per month, you can get the basic plan with Digital Ocean.

For this article, I will focus on getting a plan with Vultr through Cloudways.

The best thing I really like about Cloudways is that I can get a plan and adjust the package depending on what I only need.

This is what they call “Vertical Scaling”. This amazing feature allows me to customize my data and only pay for the resources I have used.

For example, if I have used resources for $11.50 I will pay only that amount. So I really save money and won’t have to pay $20 if I only use half the resources.

Additionally, you can manually choose which server location do you want your package to concentrate on.

Just a tip, choose the location that is near your users since they are the ones who are going to use it and not you.

Setup and Ease of Use

As you can see I’ve created an account with them and now I can fully manage my website on my end in just a few clicks.

It only took me around 10 minutes to complete the whole process and now my website is up. All I have to do next is work on its design and content.

Before I forgot, Cloudways is a cloud-based system that allows you to enjoy your own private server with fewer complications. Unlike VPS, my experience with them is a total nightmare.

For example, I can customize everything on my end using the easy and well-sorted user interface directly from Cloudways.

It’s not only limited to my website, but I can also control the access of my team to it. So, if you have a team of more than two people, you can let them access the data they need for their work without touching other stuff they don’t have to mess up with.

Let’s say you have an accountant. You can let him/her have only access to the billing page. It depends on which page would you like your specific member to get access to.

After all, you don’t want all your files to get messed up.

Another good thing that Cloudways win is their business email.

With Cloudways, you can create more than one email address. However, you will have to pay $1 per month if you want to add one email box.

Although adding an SSL Certificate is a common deal for every web hosting provider, Cloudways made it easier for me to install it.

Just a few clicks and your website is secured with your SSL Certificate.

Just like that, do you find it hard?

But the best thing about Cloudways is their transparent real-time billing. This is very important to me because there are a lot of web hosting providers in the market with hidden charges.

With their real-time billing, I was able to check my outstanding bill and where was it spent.

Speed and Uptime Performance

I conducted a speed test to check if Cloudways’ performance is matched their price. Here is the result:

My website fully launched in just 1.6 seconds. I have conducted another test from other providers like A2 Hosting but Cloudways has always beat them in terms of speed.

However, there is one thing that I consider as a drawback with Cloudways and that is you won’t get a domain name. You’ll need to buy it somewhere else and connect it to your server.

Although you won’t get a domain name, I’d say Cloudways can always extend its hands by giving us some tips on how to attach them to your server.

You just have to follow the steps and you’re good in a couple of minutes.

For the price you are paying, I can say that Cloudways is a good investment. They are cost-effective with an advanced package.

If you want to test the waters with them first, you can go to here and try their plan for three days at no cost. (This is the best deal I managed to find)

Hostinger: The Cheapest Web Hosting Provider

If you think Cloudways is too technical and you would want to take things easy, I recommend Hostinger as another option.

Hostinger is known for its cheap plan that starts as low as 0.99 cents per month.

Yes, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. It is cheaper than the coffee you buy at Starbucks.

And the craziest thing is that you can even get it at a much lower price if you have a discount code. You can go to here to check if there are new codes posted.

However, I do not recommend you buy this plan because it will require you to pay upfront for a 3 or 4 years subscription. I mean, if you’re afraid of a long-term commitment, I suggest you get their premium more expensive plans.

You will enjoy the best web hosting experience with Hostinger with its premium plans. But if you think you will be needing their service for a long time, then go ahead and get their long-term plan at a very affordable price.

Here is the perfect place to calculate how much it will cost if you pick the 4 years cheapest plan.

It will cost you around $20 per year if you pick their cheapest plan for 4 years and you will save around $40-$50 because you also get a free domain name which costs around $10-$13 from other providers.

Setup and Ease of Use

Unlike Cloudways, Hostinger can give you a domain name for free.

They also come with some tools that will surely help you in managing your website.

Just like Cloudways, Hostinger lets you control the access of your team member on the website.

Through their “Access Manager” feature, you can add or remove people in your circle, and let you create different business email accounts.

Speed and Uptime Performance

I won’t let this article end without sharing with you the result of my speed test on my website using Hostinger. Here is the result:

Well, I would be blind if I’d say they are faster than Cloudways, but an average score of 2.2 seconds of their speed time is not bad at all.

You can go to here to see their updated list of their plans and packages. (And get their best price I got for you).

My Unbiased Opinion: Who Is The Winner?

To be honest, I must say there was a big difference between Cloudways and Hostinger.

Hostinger is really cheap and I recommend it to people who are hesitant to spend a lot on web hosting plans. They also come with a free domain name and business email accounts.

However, for you to enjoy the low rates, you must invest in them on a long-term basis. If you don’t have any problems with paying upfront and enjoy their service for years, I definitely suggest that you consider Hostinger for hosting your small business website.

If you want to try their cheap web hosting plan, you can go to and you might be lucky to get a discount code too.

For this fight, I will definitely give the whole point to Cloudways.

It will require you to pay as you go so rest assured there are no strings attached here. With them, you only pay for what you use which is something I don’t see very often in the competition

The only thing that I see as a hindrance for you to get their plan is the ease of use. It’s a bit technical but the good thing about it is they have guides everywhere that you can access anytime.

You can check out here to try their plans with a 3 day free trial.

Overall, it’s a no-brainer why these two providers are on my top favorite lists. They are the best when it comes to price and performance.

So now it’s your turn. Please use all the information I’ve provided above and pick the best hosting for you and your business. I hope my work was useful to you.
