Hello, my name is Apple, and in this post, I’ll tell you about three of my favorite web hosting services for any e-commerce website. I am here again to help you with your decision-making which my three favorite providers are the best for your e-commerce website.
After all, E-commerce websites are online marketplaces that allow users to purchase and sell goods and services by sending data and money over the Internet. Their main purpose is to make the internet transactions easy, fast, and done with only a couple of clicks.
The three providers best suited for e-commerce stores I will be sharing with you in this article are the following:
In order to help you make the right decision, I’m going to compare and score them from 1 to 10 in multiple categories so you can see which one is the right one for you.
So even if you already may own a hosting please read till the end, because I will help you see some great alternatives you might find better.
Here we go.
Greengeeks vs A2 Hosting vs Kinsta: Which is the Fastest And Best Web Hosting For E-commerce?
The E-commerce industry is the busiest market on the internet. To catapult your sales in a short amount of time, you’ll need a strong internet presence.
Unlike the traditional business transaction, it is easier to promote your services or goods on your e-commerce website because everything can be done in just one click. You can even expand your market in just a tap away.
Because of that, many people are opting to do online shopping because it is a time-saver, and it is convenient. The question is, is your website capable of entertaining these “many people” visiting your online shop?
Through this article, you will know which of these three providers are your best option when it comes to these four categories:
- Speed and Uptime
- Customer Support
But please stick with me till the end because I will also give you my overall rating on each provider, and let’s see who scored the highest.
GreenGeeks: The Fastest Web Hosting for E-commerce
Greengeeks is known to be the fastest web hosting in the industry but how true is this?
To see if this claim is true, I bought a plan with them and installed my website. I conducted a test after completing my website to see if I can really recommend it to you as the fastest web hosting.
Get your pen and paper because you might want to rate them according to your own preference.
Greengeeks offers the cheapest plan in the market.
For as low as $2.49, you can avail of their basic plan. They also offer a premium plan at an affordable price.
All of their plans include free automatic daily backups, and they use premium LiteSpeed servers.
You will also get a free domain name for your first-year subscription in any of their web hosting plans.
Speed and Uptime
I bought a premium plan with GreenGeeks so I can experience their performance and get to know more of their services better.
After buying the premium plan and setting up my account, I installed on my website a basic theme and an image optimizer right away.
Next, I installed LiteSpeed caching plugin to help my website load faster.
Finally, I put to test my website on GTMetrix to check its speed time. Here is the result:
My website loaded in just 1.4 seconds which is not surprising to me. After all, they are hailed as the fastest web hosting provider anyway.
I also conducted another test to monitor the uptime of Greengeeks.
GreenGeek’s uptime is at 100% for a period of 30 days.
Ease of Setup
GreenGeeks uses a straightforward cPanel user interface with a few tweaks, such as the SSL certificate.
As you can see, the SSL certificate may be installed using the custom dashboard.
The installation of your WordPress website is really easy too.
With their custom and organized dashboard, everything is just a few clicks away.
However, Greengeeks doesn’t have as many data centers as other web hosting providers own.
Their server locations are located in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
You can contact GreenGeeks customer support through their email, live chat with their representatives, or give them a phone call.
I put the GreenGeek support team to the test by asking them three separate questions, and they performed admirably.
My first concern was about my website having been infected by a virus.
Without hesitation, they scanned my website and even sent me a report about the malware. I am totally happy with the extent of support they gave.
My second question was about the renewal costs for the domain name to which they responded right away.
My last concern was if they could install the SSL certificate and CloudFare CDN for me. The only thing they weren’t able to resolve was removing the malware but it is all good in the hood, because I was not expecting they would
Their average handling time all throughout these three interactions was 16 minutes. I can do a 15-minute yoga while waiting for their response.
Overall, GreenGeeks did an excellent job, especially on their speed and uptime. It really shows how fast they are.
They also have a user-friendly interface which makes it good for beginners. I love how affordable their price is without compromising their performance.
However, their customer support is not as fast as I thought it would be.
I will give them a score of 8.5 out of 10 points.
If you want to check them, just go to Greengeeks.com here to see their full lists of plans and packages.
A2 Hosting: The Best Customer Support for E-Commerce (Tested)
The second provider on my list is A2 Hosting.
They offer a variety of cheap plans that come with awesome and powerful features.
To give a detailed outlook on their service, I have purchased one of their plan for a year. How was my experience with A2 Hosting?
Scroll down to find out.
A2 Hosting offers a basic plan that starts from $2.99 a month. However, they have a special offer right now that gives off a basic plan for only $1.99
How often do you go out for a date? How much does each date cost you?
Obviously, this plan is even cheaper than the fries you buy for your partner when that time of the month comes. You can go to A2hosting.com here to get their basic plan for a special offer.
I purchased their Turbo plan as they recommend it is the best.
The main reason why I bought the Turbo is because of the A2 Optimizer that is included in this specific plan.
Their A2 Optimizer helps your site load faster.
Speed and Uptime
Since A2 Hosting is claiming that they have a faster performance with the help of their A2 Optimizer, I will not miss this chance to experience and see it for myself.
I conducted two tests for this speed time check.
The first test I performed was without the A2 Optimizer and here is the result:
My website has fully loaded in 2.3 seconds.
For the second test, I installed the A2 Optimizer caching plugin on my website, and here is the result:
My website loaded in as fast as 1.8 seconds which I considered to be really fast compared to the other providers.
I have also checked their uptime in the last 30 days and here is the result:
Their uptime result is 99.98%. It is not as perfect as Greengeek but it is past my minimum requirement of 99.95%.
Ease of Setup
GreenGeek uses the standard cPanel which is commonly used by the other providers.
You can easily use it to add your SSL Certificate, install your WordPress site, and create your email address for your website.
If you’re used to the standard cPanel, navigating their platform is easy peasy for you. Although their cPanel is uncomplicated, I just personally don’t like their process.
Also, they have four data centers across three different countries which will help your website expands its reach.
Well, it is evident that Greengeeks has more data centers than A2 Hosting.
According to their website, A2 Hosting’s customer support is available 24/7. You may contact them through their email, live chat, and a phone call.
I asked A2 Hosting’s support team the same set of questions I have asked with GreenGeek.
Their team helped me in installing the SSL Certificate and the Cloudfare CDN.
As for the virus on my website, they helped me scan it and they have also sent me a report on the malware.
Although they have suggested a few options, they were not able to remove the malware on my website which is okay because that is not part of their package.
Their average handling time was 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
A2 Hosting’s customer support team is faster than Greengeek’s.
In my honest opinion, A2 Hosting is pretty solid especially with the aid of their very own A2 Optimizer caching plugin. They also offer free website migration.
And because of that, I will give them an overall score of 8.5 out of 10.
I personally don’t like the process of installing my SSL Certificate and adding my WordPress site. Their uptime also is lower than GreenGeeks.
However, if you’re really interested, you can go to A2Hosting.com here to check out their A2 Optimizer.
Kinsta: The Most Managed Web Hosting For E-commerce
Last but not least of my favorite providers is Kinsta.
This is the greatest premium choice on my list, as well as the finest option your money can buy.
They’re not your ordinary shared hosting company; instead, they are a managed WordPress cloud hosting service. So, if you don’t care about cost and only want the finest of the best, Kinsta is the way to go for your e-commerce site.
If you haven’t heard of it yet, you can go to Kinsta.com here to check out all their services.
Kinsta is a top-tier hosting provider in the industry.
Their basic plan starts from $30 a month.
I believe this is a bit pricey, but it’s justified by the fact that they’re leveraging Google’s cloud platform to boost their speed.
They are not cheap so if you’re looking for a budget meal web hosting provider, your best two options are the first two I have mentioned. They are one of the best overall hosting businesses out of a list of nearly 20 different providers.
I tried Kinsta’s lowest plan that has one website and can accommodate up to 25,000 visitors.
Also, because they use their own CDN and have server-side caching, they can maintain their status as a top-tier host.
They are quicker than any standard WordPress caching because they use their own four caching plugins.
They provide free automatic backups as well as free virus removal with all of their services. Almost all of the features that you require are already included in the price.
Speed and Uptime
I understand that Kinsta is pricey, but is it really worth it?
I conducted a test using GTMetrix again to find out my website’s speed.
Here is my findings:
My website launched in just 1.1 seconds.
I have also checked their uptime for the past 45 days and here is the result:
This one likewise had a flawless uptime of 100 percent for 45 days in a row.
Do I need to explain further why they are the quickest hosting provider? The numbers don’t lie.
Ease of Setup
Kinsta’s user interface is laid out perfectly.
I must say, they have the cleanest dashboard I have ever seen. The buttons are very organized to avoid confusion.
Their buttons and setting are placed strategically so that you won’t have a hard time navigating.
Installing your WordPress website is easy and straightforward. You’ll be up and running in seconds with only a few clicks.
The SSL certificate is the same, and you can install it in just a few clicks.
They will take care of it for you.
Also, Kinsta is available in different countries with over 24 data centers worldwide.
If you’re expanding your network globally, no doubt, Kinsta is the one you can trust.
Kinsta offers live chat and email support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
From the identical set of questions I asked the two providers above, Kinsta has provided me the finest answers and resolutions.
They scanned my website for any viruses it has contracted.
Without hesitation, they installed my SSL Certificate and the Cloudfare CDN.
The most amazing part of their support is they are willing to remove the malware on my website compare to the 2 previous web hosting providers I talked about.
That’s an A-plus kind of customer support. I am impressed.
To be honest, Kinsta is my most recommendable of the three providers in terms of overall performance.
They have a nice and clean interface and top-notch speed performance. However, they are not recommendable if you are keen on your budget.
I will give Kinsta an overall score of 9.5 out of 10.
You can go to Kinsta.com here to try their basic plan and experience excellent performance.
My Honest Recommendation: Which Is The Best Web Hosting Provider for E-Commerce?
The 3 hosting providers I mentioned above, in my opinion, have a distinct advantage over the competition. It now depends on which of them is your cup of tea.
If you’re looking for a provider that is cheap and offers an admirable performance in terms of speed and uptime, I can recommend Greengeeks to you. The only thing I dislike about them is their customer support’s handling time.
I appreciate how reasonably priced they are without sacrificing quality.
If you think this is the right provider for you, you can go to Greengeek.com here to avail of their premium plan.
But if you’re looking for a reliable partner, I highly recommend A2 Hosting. Their A2 Optimized can really help your website to be at its best.
They are also cheap just like GreenGeeks.
If you want, you can go to A2Hosting.com here to know more about their A2 Optimized caching plugin.
Lastly, if you want an overall powerful performing website, I recommend Kinsta as your web hosting provider. They are the fastest, have a 100% uptime and the best customer service, and are the best option if you have the budget.
If you don’t mind spending a few bucks for a great web host provider, you can go to Kinsta.com here to check out their latest plan.
